Instrumentation and Control Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze control systems and select instrumentation for large industrial facilities.
- Interpret design drawings and technical specs to support calculations, reports, and engineering evaluations.
- Create and review control diagrams, enclosure layouts, wiring details, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and emergency stop circuits.
- Conduct site walkdowns to identify design solutions and resolve issues cost-effectively.
- Manage project budgets and schedules, oversee drafting work, and perform quality checks.
- Estimate capital costs for controls and instrumentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various office locations.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- PE license in Electrical, Controls, or Instrumentation preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Strong skills in technical calculations, documentation, and team collaboration.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
- Effective communicator with strong writing and presentation skills.
- Experience with VFDs, motor control, substations, switchgear, generators, UPS, and PLC hardware.
- Familiarity with NEC codes and IEEE standards.
- Able to conduct site walkdowns, climb ladders/stairs, and work outdoors in various conditions.
- Willing to travel 5-10% based on project needs.
- Programming experience is a plus.
