Job Title: Junior Project Manager - Commercial Roofing & Restoration

Our work includes roof replacement, repair, retrofitting, preventative maintenance, emergency response, coatings, architectural metal work, skylight/daylight systems, and full roofing system installations. Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Junior Project Manager to support our project teams in delivering high-quality roofing and restoration projects. This is an early-career role ideal for someone with some hands-on experience in construction or roofing, looking to grow their skills in project management, client coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and field operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior project managers in planning and execution of roofing / restoration / maintenance projects from kickoff to close-out.

  • Help develop and maintain project schedules, monitor milestones, and track project progress.

  • Assist in procurement of materials, parts, subcontractors; follow up to ensure timely delivery.

  • Support day-to-day site coordination: ensure work proceeds according to plan, address minor issues with crews/subcontractors, escalate major issues.

  • Participate in site inspections, helping ensure work meets quality, safety, and specification requirements.

  • Maintain project documentation: daily or weekly progress reports, RFIs, change order requests, transcripts of communications.

  • Help in cost tracking: monitor actuals vs budgeted costs, identify potential overruns, submit data to senior PM.

  • Coordinate with internal support teams (safety, estimating, warehouse, scheduling) to ensure resources and information are available.

  • Communicate with clients or facility managers under guidance: provide project status updates, answer questions or route them appropriately.

  • Help ensure compliance with safety protocols, building codes, warranty and manufacturer requirements.

  • Support post-project close-out tasks: punch lists, final inspections, documentation, warranties, client satisfaction feedback.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Some experience in construction or roofing (internships, field assistant, site supervisor, etc.)-ideally commercial roofing or restoration but not strictly required.

  • Basic understanding of roofing systems, building envelope, materials used in commercial roofing (membranes, coatings, metal, etc.).

  • Good organizational skills; able to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic field environment.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written), able to interact with field crews, subcontractors, internal teams, and occasionally clients.

  • Comfort visiting job sites; ability to walk roofs, understand site safety, read basic drawings/plans.

  • Proficiency in common productivity tools (MS Office - Word, Excel; scheduling tools; possibly project management software)

  • A proactive mindset; willingness to learn, take direction, solve problems, and escalate when needed.

  • Commitment to safety; attention to detail for quality work.


Preferred / Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior experience or understanding of emergency repair, leak repair, preventative maintenance, or coatings.

  • Exposure to commercial facility and institutional clients (schools, hospitals, public works).

  • Basic knowledge of code compliance, warranty requirements, manufacturer specifications.

  • Ability to work with CAD/shop drawings is a plus.

  • Experience with scheduling or procurement is beneficial.


Working Conditions & Expectations

  • Frequent travel to project sites; time split between office/admin work and field work.

  • Exposure to outdoor environments: roofs, variable weather, heights.

  • Must wear appropriate PPE; adhere strictly to safety rules.

  • Some flexibility in hours may be necessary depending on project schedules or emergencies.

  • Team-oriented work environment with both field and office collaboration.
