A well‑established, multidisciplinary consulting firm in Northern California is seeking a Survey Party Chief to support ongoing public and private sector projects across the region. This is an opportunity to join a highly technical, collaborative survey group that is modernizing workflows and leveraging advanced tools to deliver high‑quality results.
What You'll Do
As a Survey Party Chief, you will play a key role in planning, executing, and delivering a wide range of survey projects. Responsibilities include:
- Scoping and evaluating field survey projects, including cost input and field planning.
- Managing and leading survey crews; coordinating fieldwork and construction staking activities.
- Performing surveys using conventional equipment, scanners, GPS, unmanned aerial vehicles, and related modern tools.
- Conducting field surveys for roads, bridges, right‑of‑way, boundaries, monuments, and topographic mapping.
- Processing field data in the office and developing accurate maps and project deliverables (e.g., topographic maps, existing conditions, parcel and survey maps, ALTA surveys, corner records).
- Supporting high‑quality reporting and construction survey calculations.
What You Bring
- B.S. degree in Geomatics, Surveying, or related field (preferred)
- Experience in a consulting environment (preferred).
- LSIT certification required. On the path towards, PLS is ideal.
- Strong proficiency with modern survey equipment; comfort with scanners, GPS, UAVs, and digital workflows.
- Valid driver's license and ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly Rate: $32.00-$50.00 DOE.
- Schedule: Full‑time (40 hours/week) with a flexible work arrangement.
