Role Overview
This senior-level position sits within the firm's Mission Critical Department, focusing on hyperscale data centers and other high-reliability facilities. The Senior Lead Electrical Engineer will oversee full-cycle electrical design activities, lead multidisciplinary project teams, and collaborate closely with leadership to shape project specifications and design strategies. The role combines technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and organizational development, offering a dynamic platform for growth and influence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design efforts from concept through construction documentation, including power distribution systems, equipment sizing, and layout development.
- Guide project engineers in producing construction drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while identifying and mitigating risks.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews and support construction activities including site surveys, RFIs, submittals, and punchlists.
- Serve as a primary client contact, ensuring alignment with project goals and company standards.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal training, standards development, and strategic planning.
- Support business development efforts and may contribute to technical publications or conference presentations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- PE license required.
- Minimum of 13 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on mission-critical or complex building systems.
- Expertise in electrical topologies, life safety systems, lighting controls, and code compliance (NEC, energy codes, etc.).
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and technical software for short circuit, arc flash, and load calculations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with leveraging AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows and design processes.
