Lead Electrical Estimator
Role Overview
This leading estimation role provides leadership and direction to the Estimating team while playing a key role in driving strategic growth and project selection. This position blends team leadership with client engagement, networking, and business development, focused on building long-term, trusted relationships across the industry.
You'll be responsible for overseeing budgets, team performance, and departmental standards, while providing final review and approval of estimates to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with business objectives.
This is a highly visible, high-impact role where your expertise directly influences project outcomes, client partnerships, and overall company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Estimating team
- Partner with senior leadership to drive business development efforts and secure new projects
- Oversee the preparation of bids, estimates, and proposals, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and on-time delivery
- Manage estimating processes, cost data, and budgets to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners
- Set performance expectations, coach team members, and support ongoing professional development
- Establish and maintain departmental procedures, standards, and reporting practices
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and industry regulations
- Remain hands-on with estimating as needed, including reviewing requests, scopes, and qualifications
About You
Qualifications
- 10+ years of construction experience, including time as a Lead or Senior Estimator
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Skills & Expertise
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software
- Solid understanding of NEC and local codes
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to interpret civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings and specifications
- A collaborative leader who motivates teams and fosters growth
