Multiple offices throughout the Midwest
(Full‑time, onsite with periodic travel)
Role Summary
As the Lead Siting Specialist, you will guide routing and siting studies, environmental documentation, and permitting activities for large‑scale energy and infrastructure projects. You'll oversee workflows, support regulatory strategy, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects advance smoothly through planning and approval stages.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Lead and coordinate cross‑disciplinary project teams.
- Manage scope, schedule, and budget while supporting proposal and cost development.
Routing, Siting & Environmental Analysis
- Produce routing and siting evaluations aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Prepare technical reports, environmental analyses, and NEPA‑related documentation.
Permitting & Regulatory Engagement
- Work with local and regional agencies during early project stages.
- Prepare and submit land‑use and environmental permit applications.
- Support public outreach materials and engagement as needed.
Client Relations & Development
- Maintain strong client relationships and identify future project opportunities.
- Provide expert guidance on routing, permitting, and environmental compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, planning, natural resources, or similar field.
- Minimum of 8 years in routing/siting, permitting, or environmental review.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel ~20%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with transmission‑scale routing or siting.
- Familiarity with NEPA and state‑level environmental review.
- Background in proposals, client coordination, or consulting development.
- Experience preparing land‑use permits or participating in stakeholder engagement.
