We are seeking a Lead Structural Engineer with a strong background in hydropower, hydraulic structures, dams, spillways, and powerhouses. Location: Colorado, Utah, or Washington State
The Lead Structural Engineer will be responsible for:
- Perform structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete, steel, and composite structures for hydraulic and hydropower facilities.
- Develop and interpret 2D and 3D structural models for complex systems such as dams, spillways, and powerhouses.
- Conduct site inspections and support construction administration, including review of shop drawings and RFIs.
- Identify load paths for gravity and lateral forces; apply appropriate loads per ASCE, ACI, AISC, and other relevant codes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
The Lead Structural Engineer will have the following qualifications:
- PE and/or SE license in Colorado (or ability to obtain promptly).
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis; Master's degree preferred.
- 15+ years of structural engineering experience, with a strong portfolio in hydropower, hydraulic structures, or related infrastructure.
- Proficiency in structural modeling software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD, ETABS, or similar).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
