Mechanical Engineer (MEP)

Position Summary

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and coordination of HVAC systems for building projects across multiple markets. This role supports all phases of project development, including concept design, engineering analysis, construction documentation, and construction administration. The position requires effective collaboration with internal multidisciplinary teams and external project stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical/HVAC system design, including load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.
  • Prepare mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using Revit and applicable design tools.
  • Develop basis‑of‑design narratives, system diagrams, and sequences of operation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (IMC, IECC, ASHRAE, and local requirements).
  • Coordinate mechanical design with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
  • Participate in internal quality reviews to maintain design accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide construction-phase support, including review of submittals, responses to RFIs, and field observations.
  • Support energy efficiency and sustainability goals, including participation in relevant certification programs where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of mechanical/HVAC design experience in the building industry.
  • PE license highly preferred, EIT required.
  • Proficiency in Revit for mechanical building design.
  • Knowledge of HVAC system types, controls, and related engineering principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work model combining in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.
  • Occasional travel may be required for site visits and project meetings.
