Engineering Manager, Mechanical

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/Process Engineering Manager to lead the design and integration of mechanical and thermal process systems across major energy and infrastructure projects. This position supports project development from concept through early execution, working on technologies such as gas‑fired generation, carbon capture, CO₂ handling, hybrid systems, and renewable‑integrated facilities.
Remote candidates are welcome, with occasional travel required.


Key Responsibilities

Systems & Vendor Integration

  • Evaluate technologies, performance criteria, and equipment offerings from OEMs and vendors.

  • Oversee external engineering consultants and review project deliverables.

  • Support early-stage cost estimating, scheduling, and development planning.

Mechanical & Process Design Leadership

  • Lead configurations for simple/combined cycle systems, thermal processes, and hybrid power setups.

  • Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, heat and mass balances, and equipment sizing.

  • Assess impacts on efficiency, operability, reliability, and cost.

  • Coordinate mechanical-electrical-controls interfaces across project teams.

Project Development Support

  • Contribute to technical documentation for investment decisions, permitting, and project handoff.

  • Support milestone tracking, risk identification, and transition to execution teams.

  • Provide early execution engineering support.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field

  • 7+ years' experience in mechanical and process systems for power or energy infrastructure

  • Strong understanding of mechanical-electrical-controls integration

  • Experience collaborating with OEMs and engineering consulting partners

  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross‑functional teamwork skills

Preferred

  • Experience with combined‑cycle and hybrid/flexible generation technologies

  • Background in owner's engineering or project development environments
