Position Overview: Mechanical Engineer (HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection)
This role involves designing mechanical systems and managing projects from concept through construction. You'll serve as the primary liaison between the design team and clients, ensuring timely and accurate communication and execution. You'll also mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project timelines and coordinate design activities with clients and internal teams.
- Prepare proposals and engineering agreements aligned with project scope.
- Design mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) and produce construction documents.
- Perform load calculations and select appropriate equipment.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and QA/QC standards.
- Conduct site surveys, manage punch lists, and support construction phases.
- Mentor junior engineers and oversee onboarding.
- Collaborate on process improvements and cost efficiencies.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems design
- Strong project management skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Solid understanding of building codes and construction processes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred:
- EIT or PE certification
