Overview
Seeking an Equipment Design Engineer II to design, improve, and implement automated equipment across multiple divisions. This role supports new equipment development, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives while working closely with internal teams and external automation partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex automated equipment from concept through validation
- Lead equipment launches, upgrades, and enhancements
- Produce drawings, documentation, and reports aligned with engineering standards
- Manage project phases within budget and timeline expectations
- Oversee installations, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs
- Define process sequences and operational targets for automated workflows
- Collaborate cross‑functionally and with external automation partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Design Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of machine design experience, preferably in custom automation
- Hands‑on prototyping and strong mechanical design skills
- Familiarity with motors, pneumatics, tooling, and machine shop practices
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Basic understanding of PLCs, ladder logic, and electrical schematics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
