About the Role
Our client, a growing organization in the data center design and build space, is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to lead the delivery of complex data center projects.
This role will take full ownership of MEP design coordination and execution, working closely with internal teams, external consultants, and project stakeholders across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage MEP design activities, including BIM coordination and design proposals
- Oversee the full design lifecycle from feasibility through detailed design to construction support
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP teams to ensure integrated project delivery
- Engage with clients, consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities across all project stages
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure quality and compliance
- Drive improvements in design processes, standards, and workflows
- Conduct site inspections and provide support during construction phases
- Support RFQ/RFP processes and contribute to technical proposals
- Manage design risks, quality standards, and project timelines
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in MEP design, with strong exposure to data center projects
- Proven experience leading design delivery for large-scale or hyperscale data center projects
- Strong understanding of regional building codes, regulations, and design standards (Singapore and/or Malaysia)
- Experience managing consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams
- Hands-on experience across feasibility, concept, schematic, and detailed design phases
- Strong knowledge of BIM / Revit coordination workflows
- Familiarity with testing and commissioning processes and project scheduling
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6
- Familiarity with engineering analysis tools (e.g. electrical or hydraulic modelling software)
- Experience with cloud-based design collaboration platforms
Qualifications
- Degree or Master's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Relevant certifications in data center design (e.g. Uptime Institute or TIA-942) are advantageous
