Office Lead - Building Diagnostics
Our client is seeking a versatile and dynamic professional to lead their Sarasota office and oversee diagnostic projects focused on the design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of building systems. About the Role
As Office Lead, you will:
- Manage personnel and day-to-day operations while driving growth in the Sarasota region.
- Oversee a diverse portfolio of building envelope diagnostics and rehabilitation projects, roofing, waterproofing, façades, and more.
- Conduct field assessments and diagnostic testing of building systems.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams during design and construction phases.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and repair strategies for structural and envelope components.
- Mentor junior staff and foster an open, interactive office culture.
- Perform peer reviews of technical drawings and specifications.
- Support dispute resolution and technical evaluations as needed.
- Assist with construction oversight and coordination during implementation phases.
- Participate in sampling and analysis of building materials and assemblies.
- Engage in professional development and maintain involvement in relevant industry groups.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
- Professional certification or license (PE or Registered Architect).
- 5-10 years of experience in building design, engineering, or construction oversight.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and projects effectively.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Familiarity with design software and technical documentation tools.
- Experience in façade engineering, conservation, or rope access is a plus.
- Willingness to travel for site visits and inspections, including working at heights and navigating construction environments.
- A proactive, growth-oriented mindset, this is not a "punch-the-clock" role.
