Overhead Transmission Project Manager

About the Opportunity

A leading employee-owned engineering and consulting firm is looking for an Overhead Transmission Project Manager to join its growing power delivery team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of major transmission projects from concept through completion while working closely with utilities, engineering teams, contractors, and other project stakeholders. The position offers significant involvement in project execution, client relationships, financial performance, and the continued growth of the transmission practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage overhead transmission projects from concept through completion, including planning, permitting, engineering, right-of-way, estimating, procurement, construction support, project controls, and closeout.
• Own project scope, schedule, budget, financial performance, and resource planning.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and design teams across multiple projects.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for utility clients and project stakeholders.
• Ensure project deliverables meet client expectations and internal QA/QC requirements.
• Manage project forecasting, costs, staffing needs, risk, change management, and overall execution.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships with a focus on repeat business and expanded services.
• Support proposals, presentations, contract negotiations, and new business development efforts.
• Provide regular reporting around project progress, schedule, costs, procurement, design issues, and potential risks.
• Coordinate with owners, contractors, engineers, designers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Travel to client and project locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience within transmission & distribution, energy, utilities, or related infrastructure projects strongly preferred.
• Experience managing engineering projects, programs, or construction-related initiatives.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, forecasting, document control, and project management systems.
• Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple disciplines, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable interacting directly with clients and supporting business development efforts.
