Performance Engineer
Summary
This company is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) with over 1.7 GW of operational utility-scale solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and wind assets in the U.S., and more than 4 GW worldwide. Main Responsibilities
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze and optimize the performance of solar, BESS, and wind assets.
- EHS Compliance: Understand and address safety risks and compliance regulations.
- Troubleshooting: Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and develop data-driven troubleshooting methodologies.
- Data Integration: Ensure seamless communication and reliable data transfer from SCADA to monitoring platforms.
- Risk Management: Enhance risk mitigation strategies using predictive maintenance and condition-based monitoring.
- Production Forecasting: Refine energy production forecasts based on historical performance and weather patterns.
- Reporting: Validate KPIs in O&M and AM reports, develop internal analytics and dashboards.
- Leadership: Provide coaching and leadership to O&M contractors and subcontractors.
- Relations: Maintain professionalism in interactions with stakeholders and negotiate claims and disputes.
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Performance Analyst in the photovoltaic, wind, or battery industry.
- Strong understanding of performance issues and defects in utility-scale solar and BESS projects.
- Experience with SCADA systems, monitoring software, and data analysis tools.
- Advanced proficiency in software such as MS Excel, Python, APIs, Power BI, CMMS, Ticketing, PVsyst.
- Solid understanding of commercial, technical, and operating contractual KPIs.
Mandatory Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving attitude.
- Leadership skills for discussions and dispute resolution.
- Ability to travel nationally (~25%).
- Outstanding negotiation skills.
- Passion for exploring new methodologies and strategies.
Desired Qualifications
- Good knowledge of EHS regulations.
