Position Overview

A leading environmental and infrastructure consulting firm is seeking a Senior Environmental Process Engineer with specialized expertise in PFAS treatment and compliance. This role is ideal for an experienced professional passionate about environmental protection, regulatory strategy, and sustainable remediation technologies. While the primary focus is on PFAS mitigation in water systems, the position also supports broader environmental initiatives including soil and groundwater remediation, landfill leachate treatment, and emerging contaminant strategies.

Role Summary

The Senior Environmental Process Engineer will play a dual role in technical leadership and business development, guiding clients through complex environmental challenges related to PFAS and other regulated substances. This individual will lead multidisciplinary teams, develop innovative treatment solutions, and serve as a trusted advisor on environmental compliance and remediation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Strategy & Client Engagement

  • Develop and implement environmental treatment strategies for PFAS and other emerging contaminants

  • Lead proposal development, scope definition, and fee estimation for environmental remediation and water treatment projects

  • Present technical findings and innovations at industry conferences and stakeholder meetings

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across public and private sectors

Technical Leadership & Project Execution

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on PFAS regulations, analytical methods, and treatment technologies

  • Design and implement adsorption systems, pilot testing protocols, and breakthrough curve models

  • Lead multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery within budget, schedule, and quality expectations

  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate environmental and water treatment solutions

  • Mentor junior engineers and scientists, fostering technical growth and leadership

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 11 years of experience in environmental consulting, water treatment, or remediation engineering

  • Ability to meet pre-employment requirements including background checks and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in environmental engineering or related discipline

  • At least 5 years of experience in PFAS treatment, water quality, or environmental project management

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in the U.S. or ability to obtain within two years

  • Proven leadership in consulting, project delivery, and client services

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
