PLC/SCADA Programmer(PlantPAx) - 80% Remote
Core Responsibilities
Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC logic for treatment processes, pump stations, chemical dosing systems, filtration, disinfection, and other water/wastewater operations using Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix platforms.
Develop and configure SCADA and HMI applications using PlantPAx, FactoryTalk View SE/ME, Ignition, or AVEVA Wonderware, including graphics, alarming, historian integration, and operator workflows.
Implement PlantPAx object libraries, AOIs, faceplates, and control strategies to deliver standardized, maintainable, and process‑driven automation solutions.
Integrate PLCs, instrumentation, and field devices using Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, IO‑Link, and other industrial communication protocols.
Support commissioning, startup, and field testing of new or upgraded control systems, including loop checks, I/O validation, and process tuning.
Configure and maintain SCADA servers, historians, and virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar platforms.
Collaborate with process engineers, operators, integrators, and municipal stakeholders to ensure automation aligns with operational, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements.
Required Skills and Experience
Strong proficiency in Rockwell PLC programming (Studio 5000, Logix Designer) and PlantPAx system architecture.
Experience developing SCADA/HMI applications for water/wastewater facilities.
Familiarity with treatment‑plant processes, pump control, chemical systems, and instrumentation.
Knowledge of industrial networking, cybersecurity principles, and OT/IT integration.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, control narratives, and process documentation.
Experience with commissioning, field testing, and working in active treatment facilities.
Strong communication skills for working with operators, engineers, and project teams.
