Position Overview
We are seeking a Land Surveyor (LSIT or PLS) to support and oversee surveying projects across a variety of land development and infrastructure assignments. This role blends both field and office responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys technical work, problem-solving, and collaboration.
For licensed professionals, the role includes review and certification responsibilities, while LSIT candidates will gain hands-on experience working toward licensure.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and/or oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction surveys
- Process and review field data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and review survey plats, legal descriptions, and mapping deliverables
- Interpret deeds, titles, and survey records
- Support or lead field operations as needed
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and survey standards
- (PLS) Review and sign off on survey documents and deliverables
- (LSIT) Support licensed surveyors and gain progressive responsibility toward licensure
Required Qualifications
- LSIT certification or active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
- 3+ years of land surveying experience (LSIT) or 5+ years (PLS preferred)
- Experience with boundary, topographic, and construction surveys
- Ability to read and interpret plats, plans, and legal descriptions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CAD and survey processing software (e.g., Civil 3D, Carlson, MicroStation)
- Knowledge of local/state survey regulations and standards
- Experience working on land development or infrastructure projects
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
