About the Opportunity

A leading national general contractor looking for a Superintendent III to lead field operations on moderately complex projects or major portions of larger builds. In this role, you'll own planning, sequencing, and day-to-day execution from preconstruction through closeout-bringing a disciplined, Lean mindset to drive predictable outcomes. You'll lead teams, coach field supervisors, and build strong relationships with trade partners while delivering safe, high-quality work.


What You'll Do

Safety Leadership

  • Champion an injury-free culture through daily actions and coaching
  • Lead safety planning, site orientations, and toolbox talks
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective training and controls
  • Enforce site safety standards across all trades and activities

Planning & Execution

  • Develop and manage phase plans using pull planning methodologies
  • Build and adjust project schedules with the project manager
  • Sequence work for efficiency, safety, and quality outcomes
  • Oversee site logistics, access, materials flow, and equipment

Team & Trade Partner Leadership

  • Lead field staff, foremen, and multiple field supervisors
  • Coordinate and manage trade partners and supplier performance
  • Run daily huddles, weekly trade meetings, and coordination sessions
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, feedback-driven jobsite culture

Schedule, Cost & Quality

  • Track progress against schedule and take corrective action early
  • Monitor labor productivity and self-perform work as applicable
  • Review cost reports and support budget performance with the team
  • Enforce specifications and drive robust QA/QC processes

Documentation & Closeout

  • Maintain drawings, logs, daily reports, and inspection records
  • Manage RFIs, submittal tracking, and field documentation standards
  • Lead pre-punch, punchlist, and final turnover activities
  • Coordinate with owner/architect/authorities for inspections and closeout

Change Management

  • Identify risks and changes early; align with project leadership
  • Support pricing, impact analysis, and schedule adjustments
  • Participate in owner/architect/contractor meetings on changes
  • Help negotiate and implement approved change work

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 8+ years of commercial construction experience
  • 5+ years of field supervision experience
  • Proven ability to lead projects or major scopes end-to-end
  • Strong scheduling knowledge and field coordination skills
  • Experience running site meetings and leading trade partners
  • Working knowledge of construction management and scheduling software
  • Ability to read drawings and manage document changes
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
  • Experience with Lean practices (pull planning, constraint management)
  • Background in self-perform work and labor productivity tracking
  • Advanced layout skills and knowledge of rigging/flagging fundamentals

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Active construction site with exposure to weather conditions
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Occasional computer work for reporting and coordination
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours as project demands require
  • Travel and/or relocation may be required based on project needs
