Project Architect
A nationally recognized architecture firm with decades of experience in educational facility design is expanding their team and --thanks to consistently winning new work-- is hiring a Project Architect to join its teams in Berkeley and Folsom.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of coordinated, accurate construction documents that align with firm standards and client expectations.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to align deliverables with the established project schedule, budget, and work plan.
- Direct day‑to‑day production efforts for assigned architectural and engineering team members, ensuring smooth workflow and clear communication throughout all design phases.
- Participate in Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration, contributing technical expertise and design insight.
- Manage interdisciplinary coordination, including communication with consultants, utility providers, and regulatory agencies to resolve review comments and secure necessary approvals.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of building codes to ensure all documents and project decisions meet compliance requirements.
- Mentor junior staff and provide support, oversight, and guidance in their technical assignments and professional growth.
- Partner with senior leadership-including the Project Manager, Production Director, and Client Executive-to uphold high standards of quality and service across project teams.
Qualifications
- Architectural licensure required.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural practice, preferably with experience in producing complete construction documentation sets.
- Strong proficiency in Revit; familiarity with additional design software is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and support collaborative team structures.
- Solid understanding of building codes and the technical requirements of architectural production.
- Strong customer service mindset and the ability to work comfortably with internal and external stakeholders.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $89,000 - $134,800 annually, commensurate with experience.
- Package may also include incentive compensation in the form of discretionary bonuses in addition to base salary.
