Project Controls Lead / Primavera P6 Scheduler

Location: Hybrid (Travel Required)
Travel: Approximately 30-50% based on project needs

Position Overview

A growing infrastructure and engineering organization is seeking an experienced Project Controls Lead / Primavera P6 Scheduler to support large-scale capital projects within the power and mission-critical infrastructure sectors. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated project schedules across multiple contractors, vendors, and stakeholder groups.

The individual will serve as the primary scheduling resource for complex programs, ensuring engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and owner activities are accurately incorporated into a comprehensive project schedule. The position focuses exclusively on project controls and scheduling functions, including schedule development, forecasting, reporting, analytics, and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules utilizing Primavera P6.
  • Consolidate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, vendor, and owner schedules into a unified master schedule.
  • Conduct critical path analysis, float management reviews, schedule risk assessments, and schedule health evaluations.
  • Identify schedule risks, project constraints, and potential impacts to critical milestones.
  • Develop recovery schedules and mitigation strategies when required.
  • Coordinate schedule updates with contractors, consultants, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Lead schedule review meetings and support project planning activities.
  • Track project progress and measure performance against approved schedule baselines.
  • Produce executive-level schedule reports, milestone forecasts, dashboards, and status updates.
  • Support commissioning, testing, turnover, and milestone readiness activities.
  • Maintain schedule assumptions, constraints, logic, and milestone structures.
  • Contribute to project controls procedures, reporting standards, and scheduling best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling processes and project controls methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6-10 years of experience in project controls and Primavera P6 scheduling.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining integrated master schedules for complex capital projects.
  • Strong knowledge of CPM scheduling principles, critical path analysis, float management, and schedule forecasting.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple contractors, consultants, and stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting mission-critical facilities, data centers, or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Background in utility, power generation, transmission, renewable energy, battery storage, or EPC project environments.
  • Experience supporting large capital programs with significant budget and schedule complexity.
  • Familiarity with commissioning schedules, integrated testing, turnover planning, and project closeout activities.
  • Experience working within program management, owner's representative, EPC, or project controls organizations.
