About the job
A multi-national data center developer is looking for a Project Director to lead the design and construction of a state-of-the-art data center in Australia. This role will also spearhead the setup of its local office in Australia, including strategic planning, budgeting, and team formation.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership acumen, and regional experience to ensure the successful delivery of this mission-critical infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee the full lifecycle of the data center project, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.

  • Design & Construction Leadership: Direct the full lifecycle of the data center project-from concept design through construction and commissioning.

  • Office Setup: Spearhead the establishment of the Australia office, including space planning, staffing, and operational readiness.

  • Budgeting & Planning: Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and schedules in alignment with corporate objectives.

  • Technical Oversight: Ensure all design and construction activities meet its global standards, including Tier III/IV requirements and sustainability goals.

  • Commissioning: Oversee integrated systems testing and final commissioning to ensure operational readiness and compliance.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in large-scale construction projects, with at least 7 years in data center or mission-critical infrastructure.

  • Proven experience in setting up new regional operations or offices is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, Uptime Institute standards, and Tier III/IV data center requirements.

  • Familiarity with Australian building codes, permitting processes, and local construction practices.

  • Relevant certifications like PMP, CDCP, CDCDP, TIA-942, CEEDA, LEED AP is a plus.
