Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater
Position: Project Engineer- Water & Wastewater Infrastructure (Remote/Hybrid)
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
A well-established infrastructure consulting firm is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join its team in supporting senior engineers on a variety of water and wastewater conveyance projects across North Carolina.
This full-time position offers flexible working hours and a comprehensive benefits package. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure projects such as:
- Large-diameter gravity sewer systems
- Water transmission mains
- Urban water and sewer system replacements
- Elevated water storage tanks
- Pumping stations
Key Responsibilities:
Project Design & Documentation
- Assist in the development of engineering designs, including drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Prepare technical reports and regulatory permit applications
- Support the creation of proposals and client presentations
Engineering Analysis & Cost Estimation
- Conduct preliminary evaluations and facility sizing
- Perform engineering calculations using software tools and standard methods
- Develop cost estimates for construction projects
Project Execution & Lifecycle Support
- Participate in all phases of project delivery-from concept through construction
- Assist with bid phase services and construction administration
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with senior engineers and internal teams to meet project goals
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and other consultants
- Represent the firm professionally in meetings and public interactions
