Project Engineering Manager - Water/Wastewater
I'm currently partnering with a highly respected engineering consultancy that has been a recognised leader in the water sector for decades. They specialise exclusively in water, wastewater, stormwater, and water reuse projects, delivering innovative solutions for municipalities, utilities, industrial clients, and water agencies across the country.
This is an excellent opportunity for a 10+ year experienced W/WW engineer looking to build a long-term career in the water industry while working alongside some of the most experienced professionals in the field. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of projects that directly impact public health, environmental sustainability, and community resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects
- Assist with engineering studies, reports, and technical documentation
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Perform hydraulic and system modelling analyses
- Support permitting efforts and alternative analyses
- Conduct data collection, entry, and engineering analysis
- Assist during construction-phase engineering activities
- Participate in field investigations, pilot studies, and site visits
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams on a variety of municipal infrastructure projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain
- Coursework or exposure to hydraulics, water/wastewater treatment processes, and infrastructure design
- 5-15 years of experience within the water/wastewater engineering sector
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or hydraulic modelling software such as WaterGEMS, InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, or InfoSWMM
- Familiarity with municipal water or wastewater infrastructure projects
