Location: Seattle Area

A reputable and growing engineering firm is seeking an experienced civil engineering professional to support public-sector clients in a project leadership capacity. This role functions as a trusted advisor embedded within client teams, guiding projects from early planning stages through construction completion and closeout while maintaining high standards for quality, transparency, and stakeholder coordination.
Work arrangements may vary depending on project needs and can include remote work, time spent onsite with clients, or collaboration from company offices.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and vendors
  • Provide on-demand technical guidance and act as a subject matter resource for client teams
  • Evaluate engineering documents such as plans, specifications, reports, calculations, and technical drawings
  • Represent projects in public settings, including board meetings, commission hearings, and community forums
  • Support construction-phase activities, including field coordination and project closeout efforts
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of engineering standards and design criteria
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary efforts across internal teams and client organizations
  • Develop and review cost projections and construction budgets
  • Build and maintain project timelines, ensuring alignment with overall program goals
  • Assist with securing funding through grants and oversee compliance with funding requirements
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations
  • Support staff development through mentoring, training, and participation in hiring processes
  • Delegate and manage tasks among project stakeholders and technical teams

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited program
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in at least one U.S. state; multi-state licensure is a plus
  • Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering consulting, public works, or similar environments
  • Background in infrastructure projects such as water/wastewater, transportation, drainage, or environmental systems
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and working directly with public-sector clients
  • Strong knowledge of design practices, construction methodologies, and applicable regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities across different clients and projects
  • A collaborative, solution-oriented, and client-centric mindset
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with applicable design standards, codes, and permitting processes

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $130,000 - $160,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
  • Eligibility for additional compensation, including performance-based incentives tied to individual and organizational outcomes
