Role Overview
We are seeking a licensed architect with a strong background in K-12 educational design and a proven ability to manage projects and teams. This role involves leading architectural efforts from concept through construction, with a focus on delivering thoughtful, functional, and inspiring learning environments. Experience in industrial, commercial, or institutional sectors is also valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and documentation of K-12 educational facilities, ensuring alignment with client goals, educational standards, and community needs.
- Manage project teams, schedules, and deliverables across all phases of design and construction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication.
- Oversee the development of design concepts, presentations, and construction documents.
- Coordinate with engineering consultants, regulatory agencies, and internal disciplines to ensure cohesive and compliant project execution.
- Guide the production of 3D renderings, visual presentations, and technical documentation to communicate design intent.
- Monitor project budgets and timelines, ensuring accountability and proactive problem-solving.
- Conduct research on materials, systems, and educational design trends to inform project decisions.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative, supportive team culture.
Preferred Experience
- Demonstrated experience with K-12 school design is strongly preferred.
- Additional experience in industrial, commercial, or institutional architecture is a plus.
- Familiarity with educational planning, school safety standards, and community engagement processes is beneficial.
Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Architectural licensure required or in progress.
- 5+ years of professional experience, including project management responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Revit is required; experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud is a plus.
- Familiarity with design tools such as SketchUp, 3ds Max, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of building systems, codes, and regulations relevant to educational and public facilities.
