As they continue to expand their footprint in the region, they are seeking a Project Manager to lead large-scale civil projects with a focus on water and wastewater treatment, industrial infrastructure, and public sector work.

Position Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned construction projects, from preconstruction through closeout. This includes managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and internal teams, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to navigate complex project environments and delivery methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of heavy civil construction projects, including water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Manage project teams including engineers, assistant project managers, superintendents, and interns.
  • Oversee project financials including cost tracking, forecasting, invoicing, and procurement.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project goals are met.
  • Participate in preconstruction activities such as estimating, scheduling, and value engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality control plans, and contract requirements.
  • Negotiate change orders and resolve financial disputes with clients and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
  • Support diversity and inclusion goals through subcontractor engagement and workforce development.
  • Travel to project sites across the Midwest as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction
  • Experience managing projects over $10 million, particularly in water/wastewater or industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Experience with self-performed work is a plus.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, P6, HCSS).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with public and private sector clients.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
