Quality Control (QC) Manager - Construction

Location: Sumner, WA

A well-established General Contractor is seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to support ongoing and upcoming construction projects in the Sumner, Washington area. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining project-specific quality control programs to ensure work is performed in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and applicable standards.

Position Overview

The QC Manager will lead all quality-related efforts on assigned projects, working closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors. This position plays a critical role in ensuring workmanship, materials, and documentation meet project and client requirements from preconstruction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Control Plans
  • Manage and enforce inspection and testing programs in accordance with contract requirements
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections for definable features of work
  • Review and track submittals, RFIs, and quality-related documentation
  • Coordinate with owners, inspectors, testing agencies, and subcontractors
  • Identify non-conforming work and ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented
  • Lead quality control meetings and provide regular reporting to project leadership
  • Maintain accurate QC records, logs, and as-built documentation through project closeout
  • Support punch list, pre-final, and final inspections and turnover documentation

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a QC Manager or in a similar quality-focused role within construction
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing
  • Experience with inspection and testing plans, submittals, and project documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract requirements
  • Familiarity with heavy civil, commercial, or industrial construction projects preferred
  • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore or similar preferred)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
