Our client, a well-established multidisciplinary engineering firm, is seeking a Roadway Designer to join their Raleigh office. This is a great opportunity for an early to mid-career civil designer who is passionate about transportation and looking to grow within a collaborative, employee-focused environment.

The Raleigh office serves as a hub for the firm's transportation team, bringing together civil and structural engineers, landscape architects, planners, and surveyors. This integrated setup enables seamless collaboration across disciplines and offers exposure to a wide range of public infrastructure projects.

The Roadway Designer will be responsible for:

  • Supporting roadway design projects from preliminary layout through final plans
  • Preparing plan sets, cost estimates, and design documentation in accordance with DOT standards
  • Assisting with corridor modeling, grading, and traffic control plans
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners
  • Participating in QA/QC reviews and design coordination meetings
  • Supporting project managers with technical execution and production

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of experience in roadway design
  • Familiarity with DOT standards and procedures (North Carolina preferred)
  • Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, or similar
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • A collaborative mindset and interest in continued professional growth
