Roadway Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Roadway Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in roadway design, civil engineering principles, and project coordination, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop roadway design plans using CAD software (e.g., MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
- Prepare horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, and grading plans.
- Conduct site assessments and analyze traffic patterns, topography, and environmental impacts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including transportation planners, structural engineers, and environmental specialists.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal design standards (e.g., AASHTO, MUTCD).
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, specifications, and bid documents.
- Support permitting processes and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
- Participate in client meetings and provide technical input during project reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in roadway or transportation engineering.
- Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, or Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of roadway design standards and construction practices.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with DOT projects (e.g., TxDOT, Caltrans, FDOT).
- Familiarity with stormwater drainage design and utility coordination.
- Knowledge of project management tools and scheduling software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
