Robotics Control Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and maintain robotic control systems for automated production lines.
- Program and integrate ABB robotic arms for various applications (e.g., welding, material handling, assembly).
- Design and implement control logic using Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLCs and associated hardware.
- Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for robotic and PLC systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Optimize robotic paths, cycle times, and safety protocols to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Document system configurations, wiring diagrams, and programming standards.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and robotics programming.
- Proficiency in ABB RobotStudio and IRC5 controller programming.
- Strong experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLCs, including RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ProfiNet).
- Knowledge of safety standards (ANSI/RIA, ISO) for robotic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with HMI development (FactoryTalk View or similar).
- Knowledge of vision systems and sensor integration.
- Familiarity with other robotic platforms (Fanuc, KUKA) is a plus.
- Strong project management and documentation skills.
