About the Job

A growing consulting firm is seeking a talented and highly motivated civil engineer with strong site development experience. The firm is innovative and affords colleagues ample opportunity to participate in firm growth, giving voice and decision‑making power to staff members.

The preferred candidate will work with multidisciplinary teams to oversee and support the design of various civil engineering projects such as residential, commercial, and industrial site development; stormwater modeling; capital improvement projects; green infrastructure; and related efforts. This opportunity allows the candidate to work as part of a collaborative team across multiple office locations.

The ideal candidate is a self‑starter, ambitious, and has a strong grasp of civil engineering methods, tools, and processes. Candidates are sought at the Project Engineer through Project Manager levels, with the hiring position commensurate with experience.

What You'll Do

  • Perform civil site development tasks, including due diligence, preliminary design, quantity take‑offs, and estimating to support development client feasibility and site planning needs.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare site plans, bid packages, grading layouts, and earthwork calculations.
  • Utilize GIS for hydrologic analysis, terrain evaluation, and management of municipal or site‑related infrastructure data.
  • Apply software tools, past project data, and industry best practices to efficiently calculate takeoff quantities, engineering cost estimates, and preliminary construction schedules.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather project specifications, technical requirements, and relevant background data to ensure effective execution of project deliverables.
  • Analyze project risks and uncertainties that could impact scope, schedule, or cost, and identify mitigation strategies in coordination with project teams.
  • Assist with preparation of bid packages, proposals, technical memoranda, and reports.
  • Provide input on value engineering opportunities to optimize project outcomes while maintaining quality, constructability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Continuously refine internal processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting land development and site engineering.
  • Maintain clear and concise project documentation from kickoff through closeout.
  • Research and interpret local, state, and federal regulatory requirements to ensure project compliance.
