Senior Mechanical Engineer
A well-established, engineering consulting firm based in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of construction documents and specifications for a wide range of projects. The firm specializes in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and Technology engineering services and is recognized for its expertise in federal, municipal, and healthcare markets. Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design efforts for both large and small-scale projects.
- Manage project design schedules and coordinate with internal design teams.
- Collaborate directly with architects, clients, and stakeholders.
- Conduct preliminary site evaluations and system assessments.
- Prepare technical reports, meeting documentation, and project correspondence.
- Develop comprehensive design documents including drawings, specifications, and reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineer license with registration in North Carolina highly preferred
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical systems design, including:
- HVAC load calculations
- Life Cycle Cost Analysis
- Design of VAV and CV air distribution systems
- Hydronic system design
- Equipment selection and specification
- Review of shop drawings and submittals
- Field observations and reporting
- Strong knowledge of International Mechanical Code and Energy Conservation Code.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Open to travel
