A high‑performance engineering team is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who wants to work on complex, meaningful transit infrastructure in the Washington, D.C. area. You'll tackle high‑stakes mechanical design for tunnels, stations, and large‑scale transit environments - from ventilation and HVAC to plumbing and fire protection. The work is challenging, technically rich, and highly visible across major transportation programs. This hybrid role gives you the balance of collaboration and independence engineers appreciate.
Responsibilities:
* Lead mechanical system design for major rail and transit projects
* Develop engineering calculations, specifications, and technical deliverables
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex mechanical challenges
* Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and code requirements
* Support site investigations and construction phases
* Guide and mentor junior engineers
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
* 8+ years of mechanical design experience in infrastructure or large‑scale systems
* Strong HVAC/ventilation and mechanical systems design background
* Ability to work in a hybrid schedule (3 days/week in D.C.)
* Relocation ability (assistance available)
* U.S. work authorization required
