Senior Project Manager - Data Centers
Position Summary
A leading construction organization is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the delivery of large-scale data center projects. This role is responsible for managing complex, mission-critical builds from early-stage planning through final handover.
The Senior Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams, manage client relationships, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This position requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and proven experience delivering high-value projects in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead full lifecycle delivery of data center projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Oversee planning, execution, and coordination of all project activities
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
- Provide leadership to project teams including Project Managers, Engineers, and site staff
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise clients
- Lead client meetings, reporting, and overall communication strategy
Commercial & Financial Oversight
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control processes
- Review and approve subcontractor contracts, change orders, and pay applications
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring strong commercial performance
Preconstruction & Planning
- Support estimating, procurement, and bid strategy
- Lead constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives
- Ensure alignment between design, scope, and execution strategy
Schedule & Risk Management
- Oversee development and maintenance of detailed project schedules
- Identify risks to delivery and implement mitigation strategies
- Drive accountability across internal teams and subcontractors
Operational Excellence
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities
- Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
- Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement across projects
Required Qualifications
- 8-12+ years of experience in construction project management
- Proven track record delivering large-scale projects ($50M+), ideally data centers or mission-critical facilities
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and MEP systems
- Experience managing full project lifecycle delivery
- Strong leadership and client-facing communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Data center, hyperscale, or mission-critical project experience
- Background with a general contractor or developer
- Experience working with complex MEP systems and critical infrastructure
- Familiarity with tools such as Procore, Primavera P6, and cost management platforms
