Position Overview
The firm is seeking a Senior Restoration Architect or Engineer to lead and manage a wide range of restoration and preservation projects across New York City. The role focuses heavily on FISP/Local Law 11, façade rehabilitation, historic preservation, and building envelope restoration. This is an opportunity to take ownership of major NYC projects while mentoring junior staff and shaping the technical direction of the restoration team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage restoration, preservation, and façade rehabilitation projects throughout NYC
Conduct façade inspections, including FISP/LL11 investigations and reporting
Oversee project documentation, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
Perform site assessments, field investigations, and construction administration
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects/engineers
Ensure compliance with NYC codes, FISP requirements, and preservation standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering (minimum requirement)
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)
7+ years of experience working on restoration projects across NYC
Strong background in façade restoration, building envelope systems, and historic preservation
Experience with FISP/LL11 inspections and reporting
Excellent communication, technical writing, and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
QEWI and/or QPSI certification
Experience with historic landmarked buildings
Familiarity with NYC DOB processes and restoration best practices
