This organization is known for its collaborative culture, strong technical standards, and commitment to design integrity across a wide range of markets.

About the Role

In this position, you will manage and mentor structural engineers and designers, lead coordination with internal and external partners, and guide projects from early planning through construction administration. You will provide technical leadership on structural design, ensure high‑quality documentation, and serve as a key point of contact throughout all project phases.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys team leadership, client interaction, and solving complex design challenges. The firm offers a competitive compensation and benefits package and a strong pathway for professional growth.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and coordinate structural engineering tasks across project teams, ensuring alignment with schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines, as well as design reviews with clients and owners.
  • Develop and maintain structural specifications, determine appropriate materials and systems, and perform all required calculations for safe and effective design.
  • Oversee construction‑phase activities including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, change proposals, and incorporation of design modifications into project documents.
  • Prepare engineering reports, memos, and correspondence, translating technical concepts clearly for team members and stakeholders.
  • Conduct site observations during construction and prepare detailed field reports.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis (Master's preferred).
  • Licensed Structural Engineer (S.E.) in your state of residence, where applicable.
  • 10+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, including 3+ years leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience with education, commercial, civic, healthcare, hospitality, or similar building sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant building codes and standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI, MSJC, NDS, etc.).
  • Proficiency with industry software such as ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience designing with steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative, solutions‑focused mindset.
  • (For roles based in California: familiarity with DSA processes is highly valued.)
