Position Overview

Our client is seeking an Environmental Permitting Specialist to play a key role in navigating complex regulatory processes and supporting project delivery from early planning through approval.

In this role, you'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to secure permits and help drive projects forward efficiently while minimizing environmental risk. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level professional looking to expand their technical expertise and grow into increased client-facing responsibility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate environmental permitting efforts with federal, state, and local agencies
  • Prepare and submit permit applications along with all supporting technical documentation
  • Conduct field assessments and evaluate reports to ensure regulatory alignment
  • Advise internal teams and clients on permitting strategies, timelines, and risk considerations
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful execution
  • Maintain strong adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental permitting or related regulatory work
  • Working knowledge of regulations related to wetlands, threatened & endangered species, stormwater, and cultural resources
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel (~10%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consulting experience supporting energy, infrastructure, or utility clients
  • Familiarity with NEPA and state-level environmental review processes
  • Experience supporting renewable energy permitting projects

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $70,000 - $110,000, depending on experience
  • Performance bonus potential
