Senior Environmental Scientist - Remediation
We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Scientist to lead and manage environmental site assessment and remediation projects. This role involves working on complex projects from initial site investigations through remedial design and implementation, with opportunities to contribute technical expertise and mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute environmental site assessments, hydrogeologic investigations, and conceptual site model development.
- Oversee contaminant fate and transport evaluations, feasibility studies, and remedial action design and implementation.
- Lead project tasks including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and quality assurance.
- Support remediation system design and operation (e.g., in-situ remedies, cover systems, recovery and treatment).
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates; assist with client and business development.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, clients, and internal teams to ensure compliance and project success.
- Mentor junior staff and assist with recruiting and training efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in environmental assessment and remediation, preferably in consulting.
- Strong knowledge of geologic and hydrogeologic principles, contaminant fate and transport, and corrective action design.
- Experience with PFAS and coal combustion residual (CCR) investigations preferred.
- Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and regulatory coordination.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 15%.
