About the Role
A well-established structural engineering firm in Connecticut is seeking a Project Engineer with 1-4 years of experience to join their collaborative and technically driven team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of projects-from adaptive reuse and historic preservation to new construction-while growing your technical and leadership skills in a supportive environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform structural analysis and design tasks independently across various project types.
- Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to broader assignments.
- Lead existing conditions surveys and contribute to the preparation of project documents.
- Collaborate with junior engineers and delegate small tasks effectively.
- Participate in both office and field construction administration (CA) phases.
- May serve as project lead for field CA.
- Act as the primary contact with field superintendents.
- Communicate technical information clearly with clients, contractors, and peers.
- Self-check all work prior to senior review and receive guidance on complex challenges.
What You Bring
- 1-4 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA, RAM, ETABS, or similar).
- Strong understanding of building systems and construction methods.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
