Technical Lead - Water Infrastructure

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to lead multidisciplinary teams and take ownership of technically complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of conveyance systems, including water distribution and collection networks, stormwater infrastructure, storage facilities, site grading and drainage, and foundation systems.
  • Oversee technical teams, manage project schedules, and ensure quality control throughout the design process.
  • Provide construction-phase support, including reviewing submittals and RFIs, evaluating design changes, conducting site visits, and assisting with construction management.
  • Conduct master planning, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and conceptual design studies.
  • Ensure all designs and documentation comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform site assessments and update design specifications based on field conditions.
  • Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and review their work to support professional growth.
  • Collaborate across offices and disciplines to deliver integrated solutions and support business development efforts.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences and contribute to proposal development and client engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed (approximately 10%).

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in 3D/4D CAD software and engineering design tools.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and hydrologic principles.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative mindset.
