Transit Senior Civil Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Transit Civil Project Manager to support the planning, design, and delivery of complex transportation and transit infrastructure projects. This role will focus on managing projects from early planning through final design and construction, ensuring high-quality execution and client satisfaction.
Project Management & Delivery
- Manage transit and transportation projects, including rail, light rail, bus rapid transit (BRT), and multimodal infrastructure
- Lead project scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring consistent communication and delivery excellence
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subconsultants, and stakeholders
- Track project performance and proactively mitigate risks
Technical Leadership
- Oversee civil design elements including alignment, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway interfaces
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (FTA, DOT, local agencies, and AREMA where applicable)
- Review plans, specifications, and reports to ensure quality and accuracy (QA/QC)
- Support construction administration efforts, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination
Team Collaboration
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, supporting their professional development
- Work closely with planning, environmental, and structural teams on integrated transit solutions
- Contribute to internal best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 8-15+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on transit or transportation projects
- Proven track record of managing infrastructure projects and leading teams
- Strong understanding of transit design standards and agency coordination
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software
Preferred Experience
- Experience delivering rail, LRT, commuter rail, or BRT projects
- Familiarity with federally funded projects (FTA programs, grants, etc.)
- Stakeholder coordination experience with public agencies and municipalities
- Corridor studies, station design, or urban infrastructure experience
