Role Overview
We are seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to support the design and execution of high-voltage electric utility projects. This role involves engineering overhead and underground transmission lines, coordinating with permitting agencies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and utility requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze transmission line systems (typically 69 kV to 500 kV), including structure selection, conductor sizing, and route planning.
  • Prepare engineering packages for new installations, upgrades, and relocations.
  • Conduct field assessments and support construction coordination.
  • Collaborate with permitting, environmental, and right-of-way teams to secure project approvals.
  • Perform structural analysis and PLS-CADD modeling for line design.
  • Ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, and utility-specific standards.
  • Support QA/QC processes and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Track project milestones and assist with documentation and closeout.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
  • 5 years of experience in transmission line engineering.
  • Proficiency in PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and GIS tools.
  • Strong understanding of transmission line construction methods and materials.
  • FE/EIT certification preferred; PE license a plus.
