Transportation Engineer
Our client, a regional, employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Transportation Engineer to support roadway and infrastructure projects across Wisconsin. This is a great opportunity for someone with 3+ years of engineering experience who is ready to take ownership of design and project coordination efforts on high-impact transportation work.
The Transportation Engineer will be responsible for:
- Developing roadway and transportation design plans in accordance with WisDOT standards
- Preparing construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates
- Coordinating with clients, agencies, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met
- Performing site visits and field reviews to support design accuracy and constructability
- Assisting in traffic studies, safety analysis, and geometric design
- Supporting project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and client communication
- Participating in QA/QC reviews and mentoring junior staff as needed
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 3 years of transportation engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of WisDOT design standards, procedures, and software (MicroStation, OpenRoads, etc.)
- Experience with roadway, intersection, and corridor design
- Familiarity with traffic analysis tools and safety evaluation methods
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- EIT or PE license (preferred or in progress)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
