Traveling Electrical Project Manager - Electrical Subcontractor - Data Center
Base Salary: $132,000 - $200,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits + Relocation Assistance Available
An established electrical construction contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale Data Center and Mission Critical projects. This is an opportunity to lead complex electrical construction projects while working directly with clients, field teams, and executive leadership on some of the industry's most technically demanding projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company, client, and project-specific policies and procedures
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all jobsite safety standards
- Review estimates, project proposals, and contract documentation
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and procurement strategies
- Lead projects valued at $100M+ while maintaining budget, schedule, and quality objectives
- Oversee project execution to ensure alignment with design requirements and client expectations
- Collaborate closely with clients before, during, and after project completion
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials
- Manage project billing, forecasting, and overall financial performance
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify risks, and resolve issues
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, field personnel, and project stakeholders
- Assist leadership with workforce planning and future labor/material forecasting
- Provide regular project updates and progress reports to executive leadership
- Manage change orders, RFIs, and other project documentation
- Mentor and develop junior project team members
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Required
- 3+ years of Electrical Construction Project Management experience
- Experience delivering large-scale IT, Telecommunications, Mission Critical, or Data Center infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of Data Center electrical distribution systems, structured cabling, and white space fit-outs
- Experience supporting retrofit, expansion, and upgrade projects within live operational facilities
- Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly adapt to new software and project management platforms
- Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Excellent scheduling, planning, and delegation skills
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
- Proven conflict resolution and problem-solving capabilities
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship requirements
Preferred
- Mission Critical or Data Center project experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field
- Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and industry experience will be considered
- PMP or similar Project Management certification
- Experience utilizing project management, estimating, scheduling, CRM, and construction software platforms
