Wastewater Treatment Senior Project Manager

The role
You will act as a key point of contact for municipal clients across Virginia, leading project delivery from early planning through to construction while supporting growth initiatives in an expanding regional market.
Responsibilities
* Lead water and wastewater projects including planning, design, permitting, and construction services
* Manage multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior engineers and project staff
* Coordinate with technical specialists and delivery teams to ensure high-quality outcomes
* Oversee preparation of design documents, drawings, and technical specifications
* Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk
* Deliver planning studies, programme analysis, and technical reports
* Build and maintain client relationships with municipalities and public sector stakeholders
* Support business development efforts including proposals, strategic planning, and market growth initiatives
* Collaborate with commercial teams on RFP responses and opportunity pursuits
* Stay active in the industry through professional organisations, conferences, and technical development
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
* 10+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater infrastructure
* Strong project management experience delivering design and construction projects
* PMP, CCM, or DBIA certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
* Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
* Ability to engage directly with clients and senior stakeholders
Preferred experience
* Degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering
* Professional Engineer (PE) licence
* Experience delivering projects within Virginia or similar regulatory environments
* Familiarity with alternative delivery methods such as design-build or CMAR
