Overview
As a Water Resources Engineer based in Franklin, TN, you will lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support surface water system design. Responsibilities include developing models and simulations, preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and permit applications. Typical projects may involve stormwater management and permitting, watershed planning, MS4 compliance, and water resources construction permitting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage stormwater permitting, erosion prevention, and sediment control for transportation and site development projects.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff.
- Oversee water resource projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met.
- Build and maintain client relationships while pursuing business development opportunities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Tennessee or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
- 10+ years of experience in water resources design and permitting.
- Strong reputation and established relationships within the Tennessee market, especially with regulatory agencies.
- Proven experience mentoring and managing teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and water resources modeling tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM, or HydroCAD.

- Familiarity with regional stormwater regulations and permitting processes.
- Strong technical writing and client communication skills.
- Ability to lead complex projects from concept through completion.
