Water Resources Engineer - With Ownership

My client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a focus on water resources to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects that support community development and sustainability. This role offers the opportunity to lead technical efforts on a variety of water-related projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and technical execution of water resources projects, including stormwater, wastewater, and water distribution systems. You will play a key role in project delivery from concept through construction, ensuring high-quality outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of stormwater, wastewater, and water distribution system facilities.
  • Oversee project phases including proposals, schematic design, design development, construction documents, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring effective scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Serve as a primary technical contact for clients, contractors, and local government officials.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and technical staff to develop innovative and practical solutions.
  • Contribute to water resources components of multidisciplinary projects.
  • Prepare grant applications and facility plans, and coordinate with stakeholders to secure funding for small and medium-sized systems.

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in preparing and reviewing engineering plans and specifications.
  • Extensive experience in hydrologic, hydraulic, and water resources engineering.
  • Familiarity with working with governmental and private clients, particularly in Missouri, Kentucky, and Illinois.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and relevant modeling software such as HECRAS, HECHMS, PondPak, HY-8, Microstation, GeoPAK Drainage, XPSWMM, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, and WaterCAD.
  • Experience with projects involving the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, or Missouri.
  • Strong background in water resources design and implementatio
