Mid-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer

An established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to support projects across a variety of industrial and municipal sectors. Key Responsibilities

• Support water and wastewater process and pipeline design projects for industrial and municipal clients (e.g., power generation, manufacturing, mission-critical facilities).
• Assist with civil engineering design and calculations related to water, wastewater, and stormwater systems for new developments, upgrades, and remediation efforts.
• Participate in technical studies, design development, specifications, and preparation of engineering documents.
• Prepare and submit permit applications for regulatory approval.
• Conduct fieldwork, including water sampling, site inspections, and construction support (e.g., field observation reports).
• Develop plans and drawings using industry-standard design software (e.g., Civil 3D).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• ~6+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or BIM platforms.
• Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS) and water/wastewater system modeling is a plus.

• Supports proposal development and preparation of professional service offerings.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Receives general direction on project goals and complex challenges.
• Provides mentorship and guidance to junior staff.
• Participates in project meetings and presents engineering-related updates.

Communication

• Effectively communicates technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in an office environment with extended computer use.
• Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to ~20 lbs).
• Ability to travel for project work, meetings, or training as needed.
• Capacity to perform fieldwork, including site visits and inspections.
