Mid-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer
An established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to support projects across a variety of industrial and municipal sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Support water and wastewater process and pipeline design projects for industrial and municipal clients (e.g., power generation, manufacturing, mission-critical facilities).
- Assist with civil engineering design and calculations related to water, wastewater, and stormwater systems for new developments, upgrades, and remediation efforts.
- Participate in technical studies, design development, specifications, and preparation of engineering documents.
- Prepare and submit permit applications for regulatory approval.
- Conduct fieldwork, including water sampling, site inspections, and construction support (e.g., field observation reports).
- Develop plans and drawings using industry-standard design software (e.g., Civil 3D).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- ~6+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or BIM platforms.
- Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS) and water/wastewater system modeling is a plus.

Project & Task Management
- Coordinates and assigns tasks to technical and support staff.
- Assists in planning project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Supports proposal development and preparation of professional service offerings.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Receives general direction on project goals and complex challenges.
- Provides mentorship and guidance to junior staff.
- Participates in project meetings and presents engineering-related updates.
Communication
- Effectively communicates technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an office environment with extended computer use.
- Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to ~20 lbs).
- Ability to travel for project work, meetings, or training as needed.
- Capacity to perform fieldwork, including site visits and inspections.
