Water/Wastewater Project Engineer
Role Overview
The firm is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support senior engineering staff on water and wastewater conveyance projects across the state. The ideal candidate is eager to take on responsibility, lead internal tasks, and contribute to major infrastructure efforts such as large‑diameter gravity sewer, water transmission mains, urban water and sewer replacements, elevated storage tanks, and pumping stations.
This role offers opportunities for client interaction, coordination with regulatory agencies, and collaboration with contractors and engineering partners. As part of a team that values mentorship and professional development, engineers participate in preliminary studies, detailed design, regulatory approvals, bid‑phase services, and construction administration. Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as an integral part of a highly motivated team, leading internal tasks to support project deliverables
- Conduct preliminary engineering evaluations and prepare technical reports
- Participate in project meetings with senior engineers
- Develop design documents, including drawings, specifications, and contract packages
- Perform engineering analyses using industry‑standard tools and methods
- Prepare regulatory permit applications and coordinate with review agencies
- Develop opinions of probable construction cost
- Support bid‑phase efforts and construction administration activities
- Contribute innovative solutions based on training and experience
- Assist in preparing proposals and client presentations
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (M.S. preferred)
- 4-10 years of experience in water/wastewater or water treatment engineering
- PE license in Louisiana or ability to obtain in 3-6 months.
- Strong technical experience required
